Brian Law — Senior Architectural Designer
Six years in, Brian Law is one of the quiet constants at Macfie Architecture — the kind of person a practice builds around without quite realising it's happening.
Brian joined the team as an architectural graduate from Unitec, where he completed both his undergraduate and master's degrees. In the years since, the technical foundation he arrived with has grown into something considerably more valuable — an instinctive understanding of how good design actually gets built, earned project by project across the full range of what the practice does.
As our resident technology lead, Brian is the person who keeps Macfie Architecture at the cutting edge of how architecture is designed and delivered. He is constantly exploring and introducing tools that help the team work smarter and more creatively — from enhanced visualisation and project delivery to the latest design techniques that make complex ideas easier to communicate and realise.
His design sensibility is clean and contemporary, and sits naturally within the practice's own approach — finding the balance between heritage character and modern design that defines the best work we do. Whether it's a sensitive villa renovation or a bespoke new-build, Brian's work is defined by functionality, elegance, and a quiet attention to detail that rewards a second look.
Also — every dog he has ever met is entirely convinced he is the best human alive. We're inclined to agree.
