WHITFORD MID-CENTURY MODERN | PRECAST CONCRETE NEW-BUILD
5,830 square metres of Whitford valley views, and a client with a passion for cars. It was always going to be an interesting brief.
This single-level residence is an ode to the mid-century masters, a considered homage to the architects who understood that concrete, timber and glass, handled with restraint, could produce something timeless. Precast concrete gives the home its distinctive profile, clean, precise and entirely at home against the valley backdrop. Black cedar anchors the palette, warm against the raw geometry of the structure. Floor-to-ceiling windows and stacking doors run throughout, ensuring the surrounding landscape is always present and that natural light moves freely through the plan from morning to dusk.
The home is arranged across two wings, each with its own logic. Three bedrooms, each with a private balcony, offer generous self-contained retreats. On the other side, the master suite anchors a private world of its own, a lounge, walk-in wardrobe and ensuite that together form something closer to a residence within a residence.
At the centre, an industrial-style minimal kitchen opens into dining and living spaces that reach outward to the balconies and grounds beyond. The valley views, ever-present, do the rest.
And the six-car garage? As considered as every other element of the build
