SANDRINGHAM BUNGALOW | Bathroom Renovation & Ensuite Addition

Not every renovation is about adding space. Sometimes the most meaningful work happens in the rooms you use every day.

This 1920s Sandringham bungalow already had good bones β€” what it needed was a bathroom that matched them. Macfie Architecture reimagined the existing bathroom and introduced a new ensuite to the master suite, working carefully within the heritage character of the home rather than against it.

The design is defined by what you notice without quite knowing why β€” generous ceiling heights that lift the room, natural light handled with intention, and a material palette refined enough to feel considered without drawing attention to itself. Every detail references the bungalow's original language, updated for the way the home is lived in today.

Small in scale. Quietly transformative in effect.

Project Scope β€” concept design, developed design, resource consent, building consent, and on-site monitoring.
