MACFE ARCHITECTURE Mid-Century Modern New-Build Concept Design, Point Chevalier
Before the Build | A Mid-Century New-Build in Point Chevalier
Before a single foundation is poured, there is the idea. These are the concept renders for a striking new-build in Point Chevalier, Auckland — a mid-century modern home designed in collaboration with artist and interior designer Jodi Newnham.
Jodi came to Macfie Architecture with a clear creative vision: a home that would serve as a living, breathing canvas. A backdrop for her ever-changing collection of mid-century furniture and original artworks, rather than compete with it.
We took that vision and shaped it into architecture. From the initial concept design through to detailed plans and council consent — managing the entire process from end to end - every decision was made in service of that idea.
The result, as you can see, is something quietly considered. A sweeping spiral staircase. Bespoke steel joinery. Clean lines that honour the mid-century aesthetic Jodi has spent years curating. Building is set to progress in 2020, and we look forward to sharing the journey as it comes to life on site.
